From the bottom of our heart, we would like to thank all of you who participated in our program.
It Takes A Family was started by 2 Moms with Staten Island roots, and a the desire to brighten the holiday for the island that we love- one family at a time. We were overwhelmed by the outpouring of support of both local and out of state voulnteers that signed up to connect and help families affected by Sandy.
Seeing over 350 volunteers coming together to organize groups and help fulfill individual family needs and wishes has been heartwarming.
Together, we collectively donated over $20,000, which helped over 200 families affected by Hurricane Sandy this holiday season.
At this time, this program is closed. We wish you all the very best in 2013.

How could I ever begin to thank you wonderful people. My home was hit by Sandy and my family business was destroyed. We have been without an income for 7 weeks. No FEMA, no insurance, no unemployment, no food stamps, no business loans. Just as my faith in God is being pushed to the limits, I receive 2 letters with gift cards in them. As I sit here with tears in my eyes we want to say thank you to all the angels out there who have adopted families and to you wonderful people who worked so hard to set this up. And thank you to who ever nominated my family.
